Anyone ever have any carbonation issues with Pumpkin Ale?

I've made 2 different versions now with kits from 2 different companies. And there is a tremendous amount of excess carbonation. If I try and pour it into a pint glass, I can only fill up the glass about half way and then both it and the 22 oz bottle are both ready to overflow again.
And if I just uncap the bottle, it is overflowing with foam in about 2 seconds.

I never have issues with any other beers, just the pumpkin ones.

Any thoughts? Thanks.
